ADVOCATE TO FIX RAPID RE-HOUSING!

Tell our government a “one size fits all” approach won’t work for every family.

We deserve better.

THE ISSUE

Transitional housing providers across the country are receiving drastic funding cuts by federal housing authorities. This is all due to a federal policy change embracing “housing first”, a rapid re-housing model that believes it is best to put individuals and families into homes as quickly as possible, without the services, and accountability they need to stay there. While rapid re-housing works for some, others who are mentally ill, addicted to drugs or alcohol, uneducated and with no job skills, or fleeing domestic violence, need far more time and one-on-one support to become productive, confident, and self-sufficient members of our community. Join Aurora Project and other providers as we urge our legislators to continue providing financial support to those who need it most.
